Der Wehrbeauftragte des Deutschen Bundestags, Reinhold Robbe, fordert eine stärkere Konzentration der Wehrmedizin auf die Behandlung posttraumatischer Belastungsstörungen (PTBS) als bisher. Vor allem vom Afghanistan-Einsatz ISAF kehrten im Schnitt mehr Soldaten mit solchen Erkrankungen zurück als von den Einsätzen auf dem Balkan, sagte Robbe der "Neuen Osnabrücker Zeitung". "Den Soldaten muss nicht nur der bestmögliche Schutz vor körperlichen Verletzungen gewährt werden, sondern auch vor seelischen Erkrankungen", forderte der Wehrbeauftragte.

Die Menschenrechtsorganisation Amnesty international verlangt von der Bundesregierung Aufklärung darüber, ob deutsche Beamte Zugang zu dem berüchtigten US-Militärcamp Bagram in Afghanistan haben. "Wenn dies so ist, dann liegt der Verdacht einer heimlichen Komplizenschaft mit der US-Regierung und deren Geheimdiensten nahe", meint der USA-Experte der deutschen Amnesty-Sektion, Ferdinand Muggenthaler. Das ARD-Magazin Kontraste hatte kürzlich berichtet, dass Beamte des Bundeskriminalamts (BKA) Zugang zu dem Lager hätten und in Einzelfällen Gefangene direkt befragen könnten. Die Bundesregierung hat sich dazu bisher nicht geäußert. In Bagram sollen Gefangene gefoltert werden.
