Here lies Juan Gama‚ shot dead by the U.S. National Guard border patrol. His crime: seeking a better life for himself and his parents‚ brothers‚ children and friends without permission from Uncle Sam. Juan was uneducated and unskilled‚ but he was ready to work hard‚ live frugally‚ ask nothing from anyone and go as far as his talents would take him. Now he's dead‚ and his family is still at the mercy of a society run by corrupt politicians and bureaucrats. His killer was ultimately an employee of John Doe‚ who wanted the fruits of his labors to go to his own family‚ not to Juan's. But John knew that if Juan made it across the border safely‚ Juan's circle would be entitled to free education‚ health care‚ retirement benefits‚ translators and God-knows-what-else‚ all at John's expense...
