Not only is the existence of this torture program not a secret, it’s also not a legitimate topic for secrecy. The only legitimate reason to keep secrets from the American people is to protect their safety. Troop movements in defensive wars (not to be confused with all wars), the locations and technical specs of defensive measures, the identities of informants providing reliable information on actual bad guys, these are things that must be kept secret for our safety. The identities and locations of publicly-funded torturers should not be kept secret. In fact, they should be broadcast from the rooftops...
