Jeder zweite Erwerbslose von Armut bedroht

Obwohl die Konjunktur langsam wieder anzieht und die Arbeitslosenzahlen den niedrigsten Stand seit Jahren erreicht haben, sind in Deutschland immer mehr Menschen von Armut bedroht. Arm ist nach Definition der EU, wer mit weniger als 60 Prozent des mittleren Einkommens der Bevölkerung auskommen muss. Demnach lag die Armutsgefährdungsschwelle 2009 in Deutschland bei monatlich 801,- Euro für Einpersonenhaushalten und 1683,- Euro für Familienhaushalten mit zwei Kindern unter 14 Jahren, so die Angaben des Statistischen Bundesamtes.
