Der "Tornado"-Einsatz der Bundeswehr in Afghanistan ist nach Aussage von Verteidigungsminister Franz Josef Jung (CDU) kein Kampfeinsatz. Jung sagte dem "Nordkurier", bei dem Einsatz gehe es "um Aufklärung." Einen Kampfauftrag lehne er ab. Die NATO habe auch lediglich die Aufklärungsfähigkeit von Deutschland angefordert. Der außenpolitische Experte der Links-Fraktion, Wolfgang Gehrcke, warf der Bundesregierung Täuschung vor. Es bleibe eine Tatsache, dass den Aufklärungsfahrzeugen Bombeneinsätze folgten.
