Time‘s tale is a throwback to the days of the British Empire, the white man’s burden, a bizarre narrative in which America’s bold warriors are sacrificing their lives to protect the weak and helpless across the Khyber Pass and along the Northwest Frontier. Would that it were so, but devastated wedding parties targeted by drone pilots sitting in air-conditioned comfort in Nevada tell a different story...

Zum Welttag der humanitären Hilfe der Vereinten Nationen am 19. August erklärt Christine Buchholz, Mitglied des Geschäftsführenden Parteivorstandes:

Die humanitäre Hilfe der Bundesregierung für Pakistan sind Peanuts im Vergleich zu den Ausgaben für den Krieg in Afghanistan. Die Bundesregierung hat Pakistan Soforthilfe erst von einer Million Euro, dann 15 Millionen Euro versprochen. Allein der Afghanistan-Einsatz der Bundeswehr kostete letztes Jahr eine Milliarde Euro. Angesicht der drohenden humanitären Katastrophe in Pakistan gilt es, dieses Missverhältnis zu beseitigen. Hunderttausende Menschen in den pakistanischen Grenzregionen waren bereits auf der Flucht vor den Bombardierungen durch die USA. Nun wird diese Region durch den Monsunregen überschwemmt. Ein langfristiges Hilfsangebot gegen sozialen Missstände und die Folgen des Klimawandels muss aufgelegt, der NATO-Krieg und militärische Aufrüstung beendet werden. Zudem wird angesichts der Überschwemmungskatastrophe zum wiederholten Mal deutlich, wie unentbehrlich ein internationales Klimaschutz-Abkommen ist. Die Industrienationen müssen den klimapolitischen Stillstand vor dem Klimagipfel in Cancun am Jahresende überwinden.

„(…) Am 29.9.2010 hat der Europäische Gewerkschaftsbund einen internationalen Aktionstag ausgerufen. In Griechenland und Spanien sollen an diesem Tag eintägige Generalstreiks geben. Der DGB ruft bisher zur Beteiligung an der Demonstration in Brüssel und zu „dezentralen Aktionen“ auf. Das reicht nicht aus. Das Netzwerk schlägt vor, jetzt in ver.di-Untergliederungen vor Ort und in den Betrieben einzufordern, an diesem Tag auch betriebliche Aktionen zu organisieren. Wenn die übergeordneten ver-di-Strukturen dazu nicht bereit sind, kann versucht werden, Aktionen von unten durch Vertrauensleutekörper oder Betriebsgruppen durchzuführen. Das können aktive Mittagspausen oder zeitlich begrenzte Arbeitsniederlegungen, Betriebsversammlungen, Informationsbesuche beim Betriebsrat oder ähnliches sein. Im heißen Herbst - Solidarität!

Die Soziale Bewegung ist in Bewegung. Angesichts des Abwälzens der Krisenlasten auf die einkommensschwachen Teile der Bevölkerung durch "Spar"pakete, machen sich viele Gruppen, Gruppierungen, Initiativen, Organisationen auf, in diesem Herbst der Regierung entgegen zu treten. Im Aufruf des Bündnisses "Wir zahlen nicht für Eure Krise" heißt es, "gemeinsam sind wir stark". Tatsächlich aber zeigt sich die Oppositionsbewegung in diesem Herbst weitgehend zersplittert. Was wir daher brauchen, ist aktive Solidarität, damit wir gemeinsam stark werden können. Wir rufen auf, uns als Soziale Bewegung solidarisch um die Aktionen der Gewerkschaften aufzustellen. Ohne die Streikmöglichkeiten der in den Gewerkschaften organisierten Beschäftigten werden wir keine, gegen "Spar"pakete ausreichende Kraft entwickeln können. Die in den Gewerkschaften organisierten Beschäftigten brauchen unsere Solidarität, damit sie mit unserer Unterstützung die Angriffe der Regierung auf unsere Sozialstandards, die eben auch unsere sind, zurückweisen können.

Für den 29.9. mobilisiert der Europäische Gewerkschaftsbund nach Brüssel. Außerdem ruft der DGB zu zusätzlichen Aktivitäten im gesamten Bundesgebiet auf. Der DGB Sachsen ruft auf zu einer Großaktion zu der krisenbedingten sogenannten Sparpolitik am 29.9. in Dresden. Dieser Aufruf findet sich unter

We also know that American military and intelligence personnel roam Afghanistan assassinating suspected bad guys. Sometimes they kill people they later acknowledge weren’t bad guys at all. ‘Bad guys,’ like ‘Taliban,’ is implicitly defined as anyone who resists the U.S. occupation force and the corrupt puppet government it keeps in power. Die Steuerzahler alimentieren Niedriglöhne

Zu den stetig steigenden Kosten für Hartz-IV-Austocker erklärt Klaus Ernst, Vorsitzender der Partei DIE LINKE:

Wenn die Bundesregierung den Unternehmen weiterhin derartig hemmungslos Steuergelder hinterher wirft, da sie einen Mindestlohn verweigert, stellt dies einen eklatanten Missbrauch von Sozialleistungen dar. Das Jobwunder der Bundesregierung fußt zunehmend auf den mit Steuermitteln subventionierten Niedriglöhnen. Von September 2008 bis 2009 verloren über 200.000 Arbeitnehmerinnen und Arbeitnehmer ihren Job. Gleichzeitig stieg die Zahl der Aufstocker um 4.000 Beschäftigte weiter an. Bis Dezember 2009 erhöhte sich die Zahl derer, die nicht von ihrer Arbeit leben können, um weitere 14.000 Personen. Die Grundsicherung war ehemals als Existenzsicherung für Erwerbslose gedacht. Heute stellen wir fest, dass sie zunehmend zur Aufstockung von Niedriglöhnen dient.

50 Milliarden für Hartz IV-Aufstockungen.

Etwa jeder dritte Hartz IV Bezieher hat einen Job, allerdings verdienen die Betroffenen so wenig, dass sie mit Hartz IV Leistungen aufstocken müssen. Laut aktuellen Zahlen des Bundesarbeitsministerium belaufen sich die Kosten für den Steuerhaushalt auf insgesamt 50 Milliarden Euro. Die Steuerausgaben stiegen seit 2005 kontinuierlich an. Musste der Bundeshaushalt im Jahre 2005 rund acht Milliarden pro Jahr für Aufstockungen ausgeben, so waren es im Jahr 2009 schon 11 Milliarden Euro. So wird rein rechnerisch bereits jeder dritte Euro im Hartz-IV System dafür verwendet, niedrige Löhne auszugleichen, weil die Unternehmen zu wenig zahlen. (…) Die Bundesrepublik setzte im letzten Jahrzehnt alles auf den Export. In der internationalen Konkurrenz ging das eben nur mit der Reduzierung der Lohnstückkosten, durch Reallohnkürzung eben – verwirklicht auch durch die Gewerkschaften, die die Streiktage und Lohnforderungen so niedrig halten wie in kaum einem anderen Land. Diesen Kurs setzt man in der Krise unerbittlich fort. Dadurch wird nicht nur die deutsche Lohnarbeiterschaft weiter prekarisiert und die Binnennachfrage bzw. Kaufkraft zerstört; zahlreiche Ökonomen warnen auch, dass das deutsche Sparpaket jeden Aufschwung in Europa gefährden würde. Und letztendlich werden damit auch die ArbeiterInnen in anderen Ländern dank Sachzwang zum Verzicht gebracht…“

Bundeswehr an gezielten Tötungen beteiligt

Zur Diskussion um die Beteiligung der Bundeswehr an gezielten Tötungsaktionen erklärt Christine Buchholz, Mitglied im Geschäftsführenden Parteivorstand der Partei DIE LINKE:

Im Tagesspiegel räumt mit dem Brigadegeneral Josef Dieter Blotz, Sprecher der Isaf-Truppe, erstmals ein hoher Militär in deutlichen Worten ein, dass das Kommando Spezialkräfte (KSK) an Liquidierungsaktionen in Afghanistan beteiligt ist. Die Beteiligung an gezielten Tötungen und die Zuarbeit zu "Joint Priority Effects Lists", sogenannten Todeslisten, sind bisher immer dementiert worden. Offensichtlich ist das eine weitere Kriegslüge. Das KSK ist seit 2001 am Krieg in Afghanistan beteiligt. Selbst Abgeordnete des Bundestages werden über ihre Einsätze nicht informiert. Die Operationen der Spezialkräfte sind nicht wegzudenkender Teil des Krieges in Afghanistan, dessen Ziel die Aufstandsbekämpfung ist. Deshalb muss die Bundeswehr samt ihrer Spezialkräfte unverzüglich abgezogen werden.

Kleiner, effektiver und bereit zum Krieg

Zum heute von Minister Karl-Theodor zu Guttenberg vorgelegten neuen Bundeswehrkonzept erklärt Tobias Pflüger, Mitglied im Parteivorstand DIE LINKE und dort zuständig für Friedens- und Außenpolitik:

Die begrüßenswerte Aussetzung der Wehrpflicht lenkt vom eigentlichen Kern der Pläne der Koalition zur Veränderung der Bundeswehr ab: Guttenberg will offensichtlich eine kleinere, effektivere, kampffähigere Truppe. Die Aussetzung der Wehrpflicht ist nur ein "Kollateralschaden!" einer immer kriegsführungsfähigeren Bundeswehr. Die Bundeswehr wird qualitativ aufgerüstet und quantitativ abgerüstet. Stattdessen ist es notwendig, dass genau die Teile der Bundeswehr zuerst abgerüstet werden, mit denen Krieg - wie z.B. in Afghanistan - geführt werden kann. DIE LINKE fordert deshalb die strukturelle Nichtangriffsfähigkeit der Bundeswehr. Und DIE LINKE bleibt dabei: Die Bundeswehr muss abgezogen werden aus den Auslandseinsätzen, insbesondere sofort aus Afghanistan.
